Fallout 76 will get a new PvP mode in 2019
Bethesda has revealed the development plans of Fallout 76 for the next year. The tasks include a refreshed PvP mode, with new rules of player skirmishes.
- Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
- Distributor: Bethesda Softworks
- Genre: RPG/survival sandbox
- Platforms: PC, XONE, PS4
- Release date: 14th of November, 2018
One of many problems of Fallout 76 are the limited options of competition with other players. Bethesda studio, informed that this will change next year and the production shall receive a new PvP mode. This information is included in an entry published on the official website, revealing further development plans of the game.
Not too many specific features have been revealed. The only thing that was announced is the fact that the new mode would get rid of current PvP gameplay restrictions. Right now, the fight between players starts for good only when the attacked person is defending himself or herself. If the mentioned player doesn't do this, his or her character takes a very limited amount of damage. It seems that after removing this mechanics we will get traditional multiplayer game mechanics known from other action survival games, where players can be attacked at any time.
Of course, this change will not appeal to everyone. Most probably the new PvP rules will only apply to some servers. We may also hope that we will get higher rewards for defeating another player, because in current moment there are no interesting items after looting the corpse of defeated gamer.
Yesterday, Fallout 76 received another hotfix, a small patch that fixes a few bugs, including those allowing for duplication of items. In addition, there shouldn’t be any situations in which the enemy immediately regenerates health points as soon as he receives damage. This is probably the last update this year. The next big patch is expected to be released in mid-January. It will focus on removing another serious problems and is going to introduce some new perk cards.
Let’s recall that Fallout 76 made its debut on November 14th on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game was received dreadfully and has an average score of 53% according to Metacritic.
There is no doubt that Fallout 76 turned out to be one of the biggest catastrophes of the year. The game made its debut in a terrible technical condition and may bring the company serious law problems. There was also a scandal associated with the poor quality of the bag in the $200 Power Armor collector’s edition. Bethesda also led to the leak of customer data. What's worse, it's probably not the end of the controversy over the game. There are many indications that next year’s lootboxes and paid sets of perk cards will be added to the title, thanks to which we can change our character's skills and specializations. As we can see, the drama goes on…
