Fallout 76 Collector's Helmets Sprout Mold and Get Recalled
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission calls for refraining from the use of T-51b Power Armor collector's helmets from Fallout 76 that were sold GameStop. The use of the item may pose a health hazard.
On the website of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is information about the T-51b helmet, modelled after an item from Fallout 76, which was on offer in GameStop (which means, this is NOT about the item included in the official collector's edition of the game). The use of the said piece of armor may pose a health hazard. Apparently, mould starts to appear on the inside.
"Mold can be present on the fabric insert inside the helmet, posing a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold," reads the Commission's website.
Users are asked to return the goods to GameStop stores immediately. The staff have been instructed on how to follow the recommended procedure. The whole situation obviously became another big excuse to joke about Bethesda and Todd Howard (director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios), who got hit again, even though Chronicle Collectibles is responsible for the production of the helmet.
There was even a whole topic on Reddit, in which more than 110 comments have appeared so far. It is not so difficult to guess the tone in which most of them are worded. The NeoGAF forum, however, had even bigger laughs.
,Wouldn't be an authentic vault-dweller experience without the risk of lung infection," wrote user DunDunDunpachi.
Once again, we would like to point out that this is not the same item that was included in the collector's edition of the game. So if any of you decide to buy the expanded set of Fallout 76, they can sleep peacefully - there should be no mold on their helmets (yet).
