Fable Fortune’s Kickstarter campaign cancelled
Flaming Fowl Studios has cancelled Fable Fortune’s Kickstarter fundraising campaign due to finding a different funding source.
Flaming Fowl Studios—an independent development studio founded by former Lionhead Studios’ employees—cancelled the Kickstarter fundraising campaign for Fable Fortune, a collectible card game set in the Fable universe and their debut project (thanks, Rock, Paper, Shotgun). This was due to the fact that they secured funding for development from another source and thus are able to finish the title without crowdfunding. Truth be told, it didn’t seem like the campaign was going to be successful because gamers pledged just L58,852 of the L250,000 goal, and there was just around a week left to the fundraiser’s end. Nevertheless, it seems like someone thought it was worth making that investment.
Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we are happy to announce that we’ve successfully secured additional development funding! This, alongside our ongoing personal investment, will mean that we can continue to improve the game and allow even more of you to start playing.
The developers are now focusing on the closed beta version and want to release it as soon as possible. Until that happens, the alpha build will still be available to play and is going to receive a balance update in the near future. What’s interesting, all Kickstarter backers will be given access to the Alpha and then all players will be migrated to the closed Beta. However, even if you haven’t pledged anything, you can still try your luck and sign up to show your interest.
Fable Fortune is a CCG that is pretty similar to Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft in some aspects. The differing features include implementation of questing and morality system that changes hero’s abilities depending on the character’s good or evil alignment.
