This Element in ETS2 Never Looked So Good; Tunnels in West Balkans [Update: Long Gameplay]
The latest expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2 will give drivers the opportunity to explore beautiful Balkan landscapes. Tunnels, which are abundant on Croatian or Bosnian roads, will be part of the experience. And these have been recreated truly spectacularly.
Update
A long gameplay from the ETS2: West Balkans DLC has hit the web. The developers from SCS Software note in its description that this is not the final version of the expansion - some elements are still subject to change.
Original news (September 4)
Euro Truck Simulator 2: West Balkans should debut before the end of this year. ETS 2 fans are already looking forward to this expansion, which will offer players new terrain to traverse - the picturesque landscapes of the Western Balkans.
Those who have traveled by car through Croatia or Bosnia and Herzegovina certainly know that an important part of the road infrastructure in these countries are tunnels, which often stretch for kilometers. Developers from SCS Software have placed great emphasis on this element as well.
Tunnels as if from a picture
Developers decided to give us a closer look at the tunnels on Steam, without which ETS 2: West Balkans wouldn't be complete.
"The Western Balkans region is characterized by diverse and picturesque landscapes, from rugged mountains to tranquil coastlines. Amidst this natural beauty, a network of tunnels has been carved out by the rugged terrain, serving as vital transportation and infrastructure links for all drivers.
Our team has been hard at work creating many of these tunnels throughout the road network in the upcoming West Balkans DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Since each of them is unique in its own way, we have created a lot of additional materials and models to best replicate their real-life counterparts in our virtual world."
Tunnels, which so far have not been the main focus of the developers, will get a significant facelift in this DLC, including traffic lights, electronic speed limit signs, emergency phone booths, visible ventilation and many, many other elements.
See for yourself how the tunnels will look like in West Balkans:
The developers have announced that in the DLC drivers will be able to visit more than 60 realistically reproduced tunnels, most of which will be located in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Although the fact of the existence of realistic road tunnels may not seem at first glance a very fascinating announcement, they will certainly raise the level of immersion, which in ETS 2 is of considerable importance.
