Spyro Trilogy Remaster Sold 10 Million Copies
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been a huge success. Sales of the bundle have exceeded 10 million copies.
Toys for Bob has reasons to be pleased. Spyro Reignited Trilogy, a three-part collection of remasters of popular games about the titular dragon, has achieved an impressive sales record, surpassing 10 million copies sold since its debut.
The collection was released in 2018, so it took five years for it to cross the threshold of ten million copies. Initially Spyro Reignited Trilogy was only available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, but 2019 also saw the release of PC and Nintendo Switch ports.
The set includes refreshed versions of the first three titles in the series, namely Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, which were originally released on PlayStation One.
It is worth mentioning that this month the Spyro brand is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Activision decided to celebrate by releasing a remastered soundtrack composed by The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, on Spotify.
It should be mentioned that this is not the only success of remastered trilogies released by Activision Blizzard. Previously, even more popular was Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which reached 10 million copies sold in a little less than two years after its release.
