Enshrouded - How to Unlock More Arrows and Bigger Backpack
If you’ve just started Enshrouded, check out how to get better arrows and more inventory space in the game.
In Enshrouded, you can rescue several NPCs while exploring the world shrouded in poisonous fog. These NPCs, called Survivors, will let you craft new recipes for stronger armors, weapons or ammo, and allow you to get other handy upgrades. Among the Survivors, the Hunter is particularly useful. Once you summon her to your base, you will be able to craft more arrows, including Scrap and Flare variants, but also get more inventory slots. That’s why it’s good to recruit her even if you don’t plan to play as an archer.

The Hunter can be rescued from the Ancient Vault, which you can see on the map below.
The surrounding area is affected by Shroud, but you can fly over most of it (possibly all, with enough stamina) by using your Glider from the Springlands Ancient Spire waypoint. You should be able to see a tall, dark tower ahead of you to the east. Continue in that direction.
Once you’ve landed head up a grassy plateau to the Ancient Vault. You may encounter scavengers and wolves.
After reaching the ruins, defeat the bear-like enemies or run past them and head inside. Be careful to not get hit by the blue electric orbs shot from the walls. Further in, you will encounter a pool of lava that you can use your grappling hook to get across.
Immediately after rescuing the Hunter from the machine you will unlock the Drying Rack and the ability to get Dried Fur.
Summoning this Survivor to your base will allow you to craft new, different types of arrows that deal more damage:
- Scrap Arrows (a bundle of 50) with 20 Twigs and 10 Metal Scraps,
- Flare Arrows (a bundle of 10) with 10 Flint Arrows, 1 Wood Acid and 2 Resin.
You can unlock more types of arrows by finding specific resources within the world of Enshrouded.
The Hunter will let you craft the Small Backpack with 3 Torn Cloth, 4 Dried Fur and 5 String. It will give you 8 additional inventory slots.
