Palworld is not just about cutting trees and collecting rocks to build a cozy shelter for you and your Pals. Get ready for the adrenaline rush, because Raids are here to test your valour. Read our strategy tips on how to prepare to face surprise attacks and overcome invading foes. Rewards await those who successfully fend off these assaults.
How to defend against Raid
Raids can occur at any time once you’ve built your first Palbox and started establishing your base. You may face attacks from groups of humans or wild Pals, some even twice your level (if you are unlucky). So, arm your Pals and fortify your base to withstand and prevent being overpowered by enemies.
Here’re some tips on how to successfully repel a Raid:
- Build an Alarm Bell. This structure can be unlocked from the Technology tree for 1 Technology Point. Alarm Bell will alert your working Pals of an incoming Raid, triggering a shift to defensive mode.
- Fortify your base as quickly as possible. Even basic wooden walls can suffice for first Raids, preventing enemies from directly accessing your production buildings and defenseless Pals. This grants you some time to return to your base and assist with repelling the invasion.
- Swap your working Pals for stronger creatures that can be more useful during battles. Interact with Palbox to replace low level workers with more powerful Pals suitable for combat.
- Surround your base with traps like Hanging Traps and Bear Traps. Build small towers with Sandbags and assign Pals equipped with ranged weapons to defend your base. As you progress, you’ll unlock more powerful defense structures.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by frequent Raids with enemies that are too powerful, remember that you can disable Raids in the World Setting menu and re-enable them when you feel ready.
Raids can be tough, but even if they wipe out your workers or kill your character, your base won’t be completely destroyed, as not every attacker targets your buildings. All foes will eventually retreat, regardless of whether you successfully repel them, giving you a chance to rebuild and prepare for the next encounter. Knocked-down Pals can be easily revived by placing them in Palbox.
Raid Rewards
Successfully defending your base not only spares you the hassle and resources needed for repairs or rebuilding but also grants access to some sweet loot. Defeated enemies often drop Keys, which are essential for unlocking Chests scattered around the map containing valuable items and schematics. What is more, during Raids, you can always try to capture opponents, making these events an opportunity to acquire unique Pals.
