Layoffs at Swedish Embracer Group continue. As a result of restructuring, more employees have said goodbye to their jobs - this time from Crystal Dynamics which belongs to the holding company.

The downsizing in the team known for the Tomb Raider series was informed via social media and Linkedin, where recently laid-off developers confirmed their parting with the company.

Former senior brand manager at Crystal Dynamics Nicholas Edwards, on the aforementioned website, noted that the layoffs included the project management, Public-Relations, editing and 2D graphics departments (via GameDeveloper).

Interestingly, company's official X profile mentions the layoff of 10 employees, including only one dealing with IT matters.

It is worth noting that this is another piece of information about job cuts at studios belonging to the Embracer Group.

In recent months by the decision of the Swedish holding company, a number of creators from Beamdog, Gearbox and Rainbows Studios have been laid off. As if that wasn't enough, as part of the structural overhaul, the corporation has decided to close Volition, the studio behind the Saints Row series.

Embracer's policy changes - which until recently acquired numerous game studios - is most likely due to problems in securing a strategic partner. Let's recall that in May of this year, the Swedes - on the final stretch lost a deal with another major entity, which amounted to two billion dollars.

It is worth noting that recently, many major studios operating in the video game industry have said goodbye to some of their employees. The cuts have affected such giants as CD Projekt or Naughty Dog.
