Reactions from the business world
Elon praises again
Investors were certainly pleased with today's increase in CD Projekt's stock price. Before noon the stock of the company gained about 3.5% (via Bankier.pl [in Polish]), although in the evening the share value dropped again. This morning jump may be related to Elon Musk's comments.
The head of Tesla is known for his opinionated statements, which can drastically change stock prices. This time the world's richest man called Cyberpunk "a great game" in response to a recent thank you video published by the devs. The billionaire also praising Night City's design.
Praise for Cyberpunk 2077 isn't the only comment from Musk that caught the public's attention. When asked by Ryan McCaffrey (editor-in-chief of IGN), when can we expect Cyberpunk in the latest Tesla models (S and X), Musk responded that his company is working on the general availability of games from Steam in these vehicles.
Twitter users also asked the question about whether Cybertruck will appear in the game - Tesla's futuristic off-road car. Last year there were rumors that the vehicle could appear in CD Projekt RED's game. However, Musk neither confirmed nor denied these reports, responding only with the enigmatic emoji "100".
Patch 1.5 definitely improved not only the image of Cyberpunk 2077 but also its situation on the market. In the UK the reaction to the new update was an increase in sales of the boxed edition by 271% on a week-to-week basis (via gamesindustry.biz). Recent reviews of the title on Steam have been mostly positive and it seems that the developers are picking up steam when it comes to supporting their flagship creation.
