Electronic Arts warns: Origin app will be officially shut down
Origin will be officially shut down this April. The reason is Microsoft's abandonment of the 32-bit operating system.

If by some miracle you are still using the Origin app and have not switched to the EA App released in 2022, you will soon be forced to do so. Provided that your computer meets the system requirements of the newer software, otherwise, you will be deprived of access to the games from your library.
End of Origin app
Electronic Arts published an announcement a few days ago titled "Update your operating system for the EA app", which is related to the upcoming end of Microsoft's support for 32-bit operating systems. This will hit Origin, which until now has been working in parallel with the EA App. Support will cease, marking the definitive end of the launcher on April 17th.
On April 17, 2025, Origin will shut down, as Microsoft has stopped supporting 32-bit software.
If you use Origin, you need to upgrade to the EA app, which requires a 64-bit version of Windows.
All data and games from the Origin account will be transferred to the EA App, although the company notes that mods may be damaged in this way. What if you don't have hardware that supports 64-bit Windows? In this scenario, EA makes it clear and simply advises purchasing new device to keep playing games.
You’ll need to upgrade to a 64-bit operating system on your device to play your games.
To run a 64-bit version of Windows, make sure your PC has a 64-bit-capable processor.
If your PC doesn’t have one, you’ll need to use a newer computer to play your games on the EA app.
For most people, this information probably won't matter much, but if any of you are still using Origin, consider yourselves warned. After all, the moment is approaching when you must finally say goodbye to it.
