Elden Ring With 4-person Co-op Mode
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Elden Ring will feature a co-op multiplayer mode for up to four players.
- Elden Ring will offer a 4-player co-op mode, enabling the players to call on companions for help;
- For now, there is no information on possible PvP.
Yesterday, during the Summer Game Fest 2021, we've seen a new trailer from Elden Ring, an action RPG by FromSoftware, the team known from the Dark Souls series. It was the first trailer from this project containing gameplay, including the fragment from the multiplayer mode. Now, the game's publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment published a press release with information about the multiplayer mode.
Thanks to this we found out that Elden Ring will offer a co-op mode for four players. They will be able to freely call other users for help, for example, to cope with an extremely difficult challenge. So it seems that in this respect we'll get a repeat of the Dark Souls series.
However, it is puzzling that there is no mention of known invasions, known from some FromSoftware games,allowing for PvP gameplay. It is possible that such an option will be revealed later.
The lack of possibility to fight other people would disappoint many fans of the studio. Most people first peacefully complete the solo mode, occasionally playing co-op, while PvP is what keeps many players playing Dark Souls to this day. Yesterday, for example, at the hottest moment of the day, more than 7.5 thousand users played the third installment on Steam. This is despite the large problems with cheaters. The developers have long since stopped battling them, but fans are so fond of skirmishes among themselves that they have developed their own systems to detect cheaters, such as the Blue Sentinel mod.
Elden Ring is coming to PC and consoles Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Yesterday, we learned the game's release date, which is set for January 21, 2022.
