Early Access for Bounty Train, The American Railroad Sim, Will Begin Next Month

Daedalic Entertainment, the publisher of Bounty Train, notified that the Corbie Games’ title will be available on Steam Early Acces starting from the 17th of September. The full version is set for release by the end of the year but with no date specified. The game is an interesting mix of a sim, an economic strategy and an action game set in frontier America between 1860 and 1868 that will allow us to drive our very own steam engine. There’s more to it, as it seems, since our tasks will include building the locomotive, maintaining it, hiring the crew necessary to operate it or even… defending it from robbers?!

First thing you have to do is to buy a locomotive and a few cars, second is hiring the personnel, i.e. drivers or armed guards, characterized by many diffent stats, including firepower, range, health and so on. The stats are important since they are the key to succefully defend your train from the ever-present bandits. The players will control their subordinates by giving orders: deciding their placement, picking their target and on top of that there’s the locomotive they have to handle.

Throughout the game we will visit different American cities (Detroit and New York among them) where we can buy goods, including the coal necessary to fuel the locomotive. Obviously, we will also need to deliver the cargo to the clients to earn money for the regular expenses and new investments. In addition, we can take part in authentic historical events that took place in that period.

It may be worth mentioning that the game has a non-linear plot as well, revolving around the search of a lost family and efforts to save a group of native Americans from resettlement.

To sum it up, the game from the small Canadian developer looks nothing short of intriguing and it may be worthwhile to keep an aye out for it.
