Beta of Camelot Unchained Delayed
Mark Jacobs, the leader of City State Entertainment team, announced that the beta-tests of Camelot Unchained will be delayed. The reason for this decision is one of the studio’s workers who decided to take up on another job opportunity.
As City State Entertainment chief Mark Jacobs notified in this video, due to some unfortunate circumstances the beta-tests of Camelot Unchained will have to be delayed. The servers were scheduled to be made available next month. If you were willing to test this spiritual successor of Dark Age of Camelot yourself, you’re going to have to wait maybe even until next year, if things go according to the worst case scenario Jacobs predicted. All this happened because of a senior programmer who recently joined CSE. After two days, he quit his work on Camelot Unchained saying he found a job offer that can, supposedly, change his life.
Mark pointed out that for a small studio, like the CSE, losing even a few workers affects the project and the team. Despite this hindrance, the representatives of CSE were convinced that much can and will be done before the end of the year. The good news is that the company is already working on getting a new programmer. The bad news is: the development of Camelot Unchained is going to be resumed no earlier than September.
The president of CSE reassured that there are no problems with the project’s budget, currently hitting 3.5 milion dollars and rising. The Kickstarter project may have been completed but fans can still support the game through the official webpage. It’s worth remembering that Jacobs himself paid 2 millions for the game’s development not credited in the official contributions. The delay of beta-tests isn’t the only thing complicating Mark’s life right now - his wife is battling with cancer therefore showing some compassion and wating patiently until Camelot Unchained is ready would be a good thing do to.
Camelot Unchained is an MMORPG based on a subscription model that focuses on PvP gameplay. The title will be a PC exclusive. More information can be found here.
