EA Sports FC 25 on First Gameplay Trailer. Developers Explain Fundamentals of Gameplay Changes
Electronic Arts revealed the first of four gameplay trailers that will show us what EA Sports FC 25 will be like. To begin with, the developers discussed the basics of gameplay.
Electronic Arts presented the first of 4 gameplay trailers that will present EA Sports FC 25 in detail. First and foremost, the developers decided to discuss the basics of gameplay, focusing on specific functions. Devs showed, among other things, how the innovative FC IQ will work, as well as what the roles of players and the playstyle of goalkeepers will be.
What is FC IQ?
The FC IQ function should appeal to everyone who loves the tactical aspects of football. As the devs mention in the gameplay trailer above, thanks to this mechanic, it will be possible to change the settings "on the fly" (i.e., without entering the menu), such as switching from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3, in order to constantly adapt them to the situation on the field. The AI model associated with this function is supposed to be based on data collected in reality and reflect the tactics of the best coaches.
New roles for players
In EA Sports FC 25 over 50 new roles for players will be introduced into the game. Each of them clearly defines how the player will "think" and act on the field. The menu will display symbols for a single and double plus - the first indicates that the player has experience in the designated role, while the second signifies that the athlete fulfills that role at a global level.
Goalkeepers with new styles of play
Last year, Electronic Arts introduced playstyles, which will be further developed for goalkeepers in the upcoming edition. They will receive the following styles:
- footwork - goalkeepers characterized by good footwork during interventions;
- rush out - goalkeepers unafraid of taking risks in 1 on 1 competition;
- deflector - players knocking the ball into the empty area of the field;
- cross claimer - goalkeepers often punching the ball during throws into the penalty area;
- far reach - goalkeepers "reaching out" for difficult to defend shots heading towards the goal;
- far throw - players throwing the ball far away, initiating a quick attack in this way.

More trailers and a chance to win packages
Electronic Arts plans to release another material presenting Rush in July, another new feature in the game. In August, we will witness how the Ultimate Team and Career modes are presented in EA Sports FC 25.
If you are waiting for those materials and at the same time you are still playing Ultimate Team in the current installment of the series (i.e. EA Sports FC 24), you can receive a Premium Gold pack for each gameplay trailer you watch at the time of its release. It's worth emphasizing here that by "viewing," the organizers understand watching the video for at least 3 minutes. More information on how to obtain these awards can be found on the official website.
EA Sports FC 25 is now available for pre-order. The game will be released on September 27, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
