E3 2015: DayZ – Single-Player Mode and Private Servers Planned
DayZ will get a single player mode and equip the players with tools to host their own servers. In the future, the game will use the Steam Workshop functionality to help modders. DayZ is expected to enter the beta phase by the end of the year.
During the PC Gaming Show at E3 2015, DayZ was among the featured productions. Brian Hicks from Bohemia Interactive shed some light on the future of the survival MMO, which has been available on Steam Early Access since December 2013.
Soon, the post-apocalyptic production will get an offline mode for single player – it’s the perfect choice if you have had enough of bickering with unpredictable team members, and you just want to have fun trying to survive in the zombie-infested world. As for the online gaming enthusiasts, they will be pleased to hear that a set of tools needed to host their own servers will be implemented. In addition, the game will use the Steam Workshop to streamline the installation and distribution of the fan-made modifications. In terms of additional content, it is worth mentioning that three new vehicles will appear in the game. Two of them are GAZ-24 Volga and a municipal bus. However, before the players can drive them, they will have to fix them themselves using relevant parts. If everything goes according to plan, the beta version of DayZ (i.e. with complete content, but still with errors to correct) will launch later this year. Is this new batch of information enough to win back the attention of players?
