New Gameplay From Dragon's Dogma 2 is a 9-minute Feast for RPG Fans
New gameplay footage from the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2 has hit the web. The director of the RPG talks about the available vocations and the game world in a spectacular video.
As part of the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2023, a new, quite long footage from Dragon's Dogma 2 has been presented. You can watch the 9-minute video, with Hideaki Itsuno acting as a guide to the features of the upcoming RPG, below.
Gameplay looks like a fairly faithful transfer of everything that the original Dragon's Dogma was loved for, into the present and sporting very attractive visuals, worthy of 9th-gen consoles.
The footage introduces vocations, that is, the character classes. The player can change them at any time during the adventure in "Vocation Guilds'. Dragon's Dogma 2 will offer four basic vocations. The warrior fights with a sword and shield, the archer can attack distant enemies, the mage wields supernatural powers, and the thief uses two short blades, making him the most agile.
Over time, the player will unlock advanced vocations - two of them are presented in the video. Mystic Spearhand can use magic in ranged combat, and when things get up close and personal, he will use a spear. Magick Archer, on the other hand, is another variation on the spellcaster theme, who uses a bow and enchanted arrows.
There was also an introduction to the game world. In Dragon's Dogma 2 the kingdom of humans, Vermund, and the land of beasts, Battahl, are expanding. Nights are particularly dangerous, as that's when you can encounter unique and dangerous enemies. So it is worth taking "pawns" with you to help in the fight - at most you can travel with three such companions controlled by the artificial intelligence.
Recall that Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game's release date is so far unknown.
