Dragon Ball FighterZ story mode and new playable characters revealed
V-Jump and Weekly Jump magazines have revealed several playable characters included in Dragon Ball FighterZ as well as a story mode.
Dragon Ball fans are looking forward to playing another game set in that universe – Dragon Ball FighterZ in development by Arc System Works (creators of BlazBlue and Guilty Gear), which was announced a couple of months ago by Bandai Namco, before this year’s E3.
Some new info about that title emerged in the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazines V-Jump and Weekly Jump (thanks, Gematsu!). The latter confirms that among the playable characters available in Dragon Ball FighterZ there will be both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, while the former also mentions playable Android 16 and Android 18.
Super Saiyan Blue Goku’s special ability will be 10x God Kamehameha, while Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta’s Final Flash Attack. Android 16 will be able to use Hell’s Flash, whereas Android 18’s super power is Accel Dance, which is a combo attack that summons Android 17. The magazine does not specify whether Android 17 will be playable on its own as well. That same source (via Gamatsu) says that Dragon Ball FighterZ will have a story mode (“a new story for Goku and friends depicted in high-end animation”), in which “super warriors fall one by one.”
Dragon Ball FighterZ is planned to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018. Before that the game will be beta-tested through September 16-18.
