Doug Cockle, the actor who provided his voice to the English-language versions of The Witcher games, announced on his Twitter profile that he has prostate cancer. The artist does not lose optimism and announced that treatment is going well. At the same time, he appealed to carry out tests to detect cancer.
Doug Cockle is battling cancer
Doug Cockle underwent a routine health check and, to his surprise, found out that he has prostate cancer. As he reported, treatment is moving in the right direction. There were many words of support under his post, including from CD Projekt Red, which wrote:
"We wish you all the best! We know you will beat this, witcher!"
The actor also appealed to men over 50 to go for a checkup, just in case. From my own experience, I'd like to add that the prostate examination is very often avoided, and one of the reasons is the fear of how it is performed. In reality, it consists of a momentary ultrasound of the lower abdomen, so there is really nothing to fear.
At this point we join the appeal - get yourself checked, as the disease is easier to beat in its early stages. Do it not only for yourself, but also for your loved ones.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that we recently interviewed Doug, on the occasion of which the actor talked about, among other things, his work on the voice-over for Geralt. If you are curious about what he had to say, you can read the whole thing here.
