Dota Underlords Officially Lauches, Having Left Steam Early Sccess
The full version of Valve's auto battler Dota Underlords has officially launched. It introduces novelties in multiplayer and a single player story campaign.
- Changes in multiplayer,
- Addition of a single player campaign,
- Launch of the First Season of updated,
- Launch of the paid Battle Pass.
After seven months of testing in early access, the full version of Dota Underlords, a tactical auto battler game by Valve Software, based on solutions from the popular Dota Auto Chess mod for Dota 2 has officially debuted.
The production uses the freemium model and is available on PC, as well as iOS and Android mobile systems. The game offers cross-play, so users of different hardware platforms can play together. Progress made on one device is also transferred to another.
As the game left early access, the First Season began. It introduces a lot of changes in multiplayer, modifying the character roster and their balance. The devs also added the City Crawl single player story campaign. In it, the death of Mama Eeb, the ruler of the city, leads to chaos. We need to regain control of the metropolis by reclaiming it, quarter by quarter.
The campaign includes both typical clashes against artificial intelligence and logic puzzles. For the time being we don't know if the story mode will be further developed in the next seasons.
The first paid Battle Pass has also been made available, providing access to rewards such as new maps, weather effects, profile customization options, skins, and other gameplay decorations. Among these attractions, however, there is nothing that would provide an advantage in combat.
Last year's debut of Dota Underlords was successful, but in just six months the game lost 90% of its players and the undisputed current leader of the auto battler category is Teamfight Tactics. So we're curious to see if leaving early access will help Valve's game regain popularity.
