Does Mecha Break support every controller? Here’s how to fix issues with PS5 and other gamepads
Find out how to fix your PlayStation controller if it’s not working in Mecha Break. There’s an easy solution.

Despite receiving some heavy criticism in its initial Steam reviews, the Mecha Break open beta continues to attract a massive number of concurrent players. With Xbox owners set to join the battlefield soon, this number could potentially double. While the game does offer controller support, DualShock and DualSense users seem to be running into some compatibility issues. But luckily, there's a simple fix for that.
Mecha Break controller support explained
Mecha Break is an upcoming multiplayer game for PC and consoles, with its open beta currently available exclusively on Steam. However, since the game only supports Xbox controllers, PlayStation gamepad users may run into some problems.
So, if you want to play Mecha Break with a controller other than an Xbox one, follow these steps:
- Open Steam App and go to Library.
- Right-click on Mecha Break Demo and select Properties.
- Go to the Controller tab and select Disable Steam Input.
- Restart Steam and launch the game.
If that didn’t help, try to plug in your controller to your PC.
PlayStation gamepads should get support at some point, but it's hard to say when exactly. The game is planned for launch in 2025, but with the mixed reactions from early players, there’s always a chance the schedule could shift.
