Mechs are a unique theme not only in games, but in art in general. They often impose a specific, futuristic, sci-fi setting in the medium they are added to. That does not mean, however, that productions in which they are featured are the same. Yes, they imply that most probably there will be a shooting action of a sort, yet the element of huge, mechanic armor can differ significantly. We have story-driven, FPS-like Titanfall 2, or more tactical Steel Hunters. There is also fast paced Armored Core. And if you thought that the latter would be great in multiplayer, Amazing Seasun Games have prepared something just for you – Mecha Break. After a series of playtests on Steam, currently held open beta is said to be finally available for console fans. Let’s see how the situation looks like in details when it comes to devices like Xbox and PS5.

Mecha Break – Xbox joins open beta, is PS5 left behind?

We live in times when games are often released on multiple platforms. Even Sony makes their once exclusive titles available on PC. However, Sony is a huge company that has nearly unlimited resources to port their productions. Amazing Seasun doesn’t have the same possibilities. That’s why their Mecha Break is taking slow steps towards more and more platforms.

As the open beta has become available on Steam, the developers informed that Xbox will be soon joining the fray. It can take a bit longer, though, due to some additional work they would like to put into this port. PS5 is a different story. Everything shows that PlayStation players will not be able to participate in this open beta. Nevertheless, don’t worry if you want to give Mecha Break a shot on your PS – it is said to be coming to this console, too, yet this version will take more time to complete. The creators promise that it will happen later in 2025.

As things currently stand, the sudden success of this game overwhelmed even its developers, as many of the negative reviews come from the fact that the servers were not able to withstand the number of players wanting to give this production a go. This is the reason why we should be more patient and give Amazing Seasun more time to work on their title.
