Diablo 4 has received a presentation during theXbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. The developers showed a new gameplay and revealed the last of the five character classes available in the game.
It turned out that it is the Necromancer. And now Blizzard has provided us with a large dose of new information.
Four styles of play and corpses as a resource
Details on the necromancer were provided in the latest quarterly update. In it, the developers revealed that when designing the character, they tried to make it appeal to fans of all versions of the necromancer from previous installments.
First of all, it was revealed what weapons the character will be able to use. These will be swords, daggers, wands, focus and shields. The necromancer will also be the only one to use a scythe.
Starting the game with this character, we must also prepare ourselves for a bit of non-standard solutions. The first of these can be seen in the sphere of resources collected during the game.
In the case of the necromancer we're talking about essence and corpses. We'll collect the corpses of enemies by simply murdering those who stand in our way. Later on, they'll be useful for summoning undead servants or strengthening our skills.
After reaching an appropriate level The necromancer will also be able to use four game styles: bone, darkness, blood and army.
Skills related to the style of bone are the most direct. They will be useful for inflicting the greatest damage to enemies. Darkness style will appeal to players who prefer to wear down their opponents with abilities that deal damage over a longer period of time.
Blood skills enable us to steal our opponents' health, so they are mostly defensive skills. Army style, on the other hand, is the way to go for players who want to specialize in bringing hordes of rotten allies back to life.
There's one more element that will help in commanding the undead. The Book of the Dead will enable us to manage the undead army. We will be able to personalize its composition and upgrade individual units.
So it seems that the necromancer will be a character that offers many possibilities. How it will work in reality, we will find out in 2023 or earlier during the beta tests (signups have already started).
