Work on Diablo 4 is Over; 60 Fps in 4K on Consoles

Diablo 4 is ready for release. It has also been confirmed that the game will deliver 60 fps at 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X (and thus presumably on the PlayStation 5 as well).

Sanctuary fans received two pieces of good news today. The first concerns the completion of work on Diablo IV, meaning the game has gone gold (via Twitter).

This, in turn, means that the June release of the game should take place as planned. Probably some people are already reserving their time for the game.

The second news concerns the game's performance on consoles. Diablo 4 will enable you to play on Xbox Series X at 60 frames per second in 4K resolution and at 1080p on the XSS. The information was provided by Rod Fergusson, executive producer at Blizzard, during an Xbox podcast called (via Pure Xbox).

Of course, the developer did not mention performance on PlayStation 5, but it is nevertheless virtually certain that Diablo IV will run identically on Sony's device as on the XSX. We're also still waiting for details on graphics settings on consoles.

Fergusson also hinted that the players will not experience loading screens during exploration and the accompanying change of servers (as a reminder: Diablo IV will offer a shared networked world in the likeness of MMO games). Only teleportation, dungeon entry and "big world scenery changes" will momentarily pull players out of Sanctuary while loading data.

Diablo IV will be released on June 6 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The developers intend to make the wait more pleasant for the players by sharing more information about the game, including in streams - the next one will take place on April 20.
