Diablo 4 Beta Early Access Launches Today
We'll still have to wait for the Diablo IV open beta, but today buyers of the game will be able to test the new installment of the hack'n'slash series from Blizzard Entertainment.
Today at 5 p.m. CET, the early access beta test of Diablo 4 will start. It is reserved for those who have pre-ordered any of the three editions of the game: standard, Deluxe or Ultimate. The collector's edition does not include the game itself and thus does not contain the key giving access to the tests.
Diablo 4 Beta - preload and launch time
Starting Wednesday, March 15, players with beta keys can download it from Battle.net, as well as Sony and Microsoft stores to preload the test version of the new Diablo. This will enable them to join the fun as soon as the early access beta begins.
The early access testing will run until March 20 at 9 a.m. CET. If you have opted out of the pre-order, but want to test Diablo 4 before its release, you'll have to wait for the open beta next week.
Diablo 4 Beta - content
In both cases, test participants will be able to check out the prologue and the first act of the game in Shattered Peaks. However, early access will only include three character classes: wizard, rogue, and barbarian. We'll have to wait until the open beta to try out the necromancer and druid, although the level 20 restriction for characters will still apply.
In addition, players will be able to face the world's first boss, as well as play together with friends in co-op mode (including cross-platform).
