Not Just Immortal; Blizzard Doesn't Forget About Diablo 2 Resurrected
The commerial success of Diablo Immortal does not seem to have affected work on other games in the series. Blizzard has provided details of update 2.4.3, scheduled for Diablo 2 Resurrected.
- Update 2.4.3 has been announced for Diablo II Resurrected.
- The patch will launch on Wednesday, June 29.
The world did not stop after the release of Diablo Immortal. Blizzard is still working on Diablo 4 and gradually improving Diablo II Resurrected. The devs announced details for D2R's patch 2.4.3, which will hit the servers on Wednesday, June 29th. It is good to know that the huge financial success of Diablo Immortal did not affect the development of other games in the series. Here are the most important changes that the update will bring.
Major Changes and Innovations in Diablo 2 Resurrected Update 2.4.3
- Improvements to the list of games. The devs have primarily addressed the issue of a small number of games on the game list. It turned out that the original search criteria were too restrictive, which made the list seem quite small. Players with weaker internet connections were pushed further down the list and were not displayed in the menu. After the update, we will see 40 instead of 20 items on the list of games. Additionally, all details will be refreshed in near real-time (though you will still need to manually refresh the list). These changes will appear on PC and consoles.
- There are also many improvements in the console version, where the team finder will be replaced by a create menu and a list of games. After clicking the "Play" option, three options will appear on the character selection screen: private game, game creation and game list (modeled on what is available in the PC version with filters).
- The waiting room on PC will be streamlined. Diablo II Resurrected players have complained about the difficulty of finding specific sessions they wanted to join. The new update will add a search feature to the waiting room. One will be able to type in keywords to help find matching games. We will also see the connection quality in the hint box that appears when we hover the mouse cursor over a session.
- Additionally the patch will bring a 50% bonus to finding magic items, which will be active from June 30 to July 4. During these days it will also be easier to find rare items or elements of sets, among other things.
- A number of QoL improvements. It will be easier to perform the Whirlwind, Jump, and Jump Attack after the Whirlwind ends. There will be a shortcut on controllers to enable us to move the item we are picking up directly to the Horadric Cube, and we will be able to allocate attribute points in bulk. On PC, a shortcut will be added to open the Cube directly, and it will also be possible to join the game by double-clicking it in the waiting room menu.
- Additionally, there will be standard bug fixes, as well as performance and stability improvements to the game.
These are just the highlights of the upcoming update. All details can be found in this post on the official Blizzard website.
