Dead Island 2 has gone gold. On this occasion, Deep Silver and Dambuster decided to "meet the expectations of fans" and accelerate the release date of the title. As a result the title will launch a week earlier than previously planned - on April 21, 2023. The game is headed for PC,PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Dead Island 2 has had a turbulent development history. After Techland lost rights to the brand, the title changed developers several times. Eventually, the version developed by Dambuster will see the light of day. During the game we will be taken to a zombie-infested and quarantined Los Angeles. In the game we will play as one of six characters and face the horde of the undead solo or in co-op.

It is worth noting here that the acceleration of the release will be to some extent dictated by avoidance of competition. The day the game was to be released originally, will also see the debut of another major work - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (recently postponed from March). The competition between the two items could therefore be very fierce... and potentially a losing one for the work of Dambuster Studio.
