Days Gone Used as Foundation for Bend Studio's New Game

Bend Studio will not be given the opportunity to create a sequel to Days Gone, but the developers have revealed that the team's new IP is being built on the foundations of that game.

Days Gone will not live to see a sequel, but the solutions developed in the game will become the foundation of Bend's new brand. That's according to a post published on the official PlayStation Blog blog to celebrate the reveal of the team's new logo, which you can see above.

  1. The team's next project was described as "a new brand that expands on the open world mechanics present in Days Gone".
  2. It was also confirmed that the game will offer a multiplayer mode. This comes as no surprise, as last year the studio was looking for a developer with experience working on network features.

Initially, there were plans to develop Days Gone 2, but ultimately they were abandoned. Sony was to be dissatisfied with the results of the first part, which admittedly sold an impressive number of copies but too many of them were purchased at huge discounts.

At the end of 2020 Bend Studio was left by the designer and director Jeff Ross and screenwriter John Garvin, who were the most important members of the team responsible for Days Gone. Ross recently found employment with Crystal Dynamics.. This team, along with the Tomb Raider brand, was aquired by the Embracer Group last month.

Finally, let us remind you that Days Gone debuted in April 2019 on PlayStation 4, with a PC port released two years later. According to latest information the PC edition of the game has already found 852 thousand buyers.
