'Days Gone 2 or I'm Throwing Away My PS5' - Bend Teases With Puzzling Photo
Bend Studio published an enigmatic photo - certainly teasing a new game. However, gamers have started demanding Days Gone 2.
On Monday, the the twitter profile of Bend Studio - devs of Days Gone - posted an enigmatic entry that reads: "Monday." There would be nothing interesting about it, if it weren't for the photo posted along with it (shown below), showing a pen with the recently refreshed team logo on the background of the PlayStation Studios logo.
Although the post has been viewed more than half a million times, few of those commenting on it have taken up the discussion of what the developer wants to suggest by this. Most are asking questions like: "Where is Days Gone 2?" or "When Days Gone 2?". Jenna Quigley, on the other hand wrote: "Days Gone 2 or I'm throwing away my PS5." Moments later she added that she was probably being a bit dramatic.
There is no denying that the community wants to return to the post-apocalyptic world from the game. The latte - as we know - did not satisfy Sony financially, as the bulk of the copies of the game sold were acquired discounted.
- One Days Gone director Jeff Ross estimated that the title had sold about 8 million copies.
- The other, John Garvin, stated that the "belated" interest in the game is due to the mediocre reviews it received at launch.
- It is worth mentioning that both no longer work at Bend Studio.
Sony has thus buried talk about the sequel - we have only a general outline of what it could have looked like. Unless the Japanese have changed their minds and that's what Bend Studio wanted to suggest? Or perhaps - more likely - the developer decided to remind us that it is developing an entirely new game, which is to be based on the mechanics from Days Gone, and has just started another week of work?
With the yet to be officially announced PlayStation Showcase - which, however is becoming a major topic in industry circles - it would be quite a sensible move.
