DAYS GONE IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Developer: Bend Studio
  2. Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  3. Genre: Action game
  4. Platform: PS4
  5. Release date: April 26, 2019

Today, Days Gone, an open-world action game developed by Bend Studio, debuted on the market. The production is available only on PlayStation 4. We waited a long time for the title, as it was announced three years ago and the launch was delayed several times.

Yesterday we wrote about the first reviews. They are not tragic, but undoubtedly the expectations were higher. The game currently has an average score of 72% on Metacritic.

Days Gone is praised for the quality of its graphics, vast and interesting world, and its long-lasting campaign. The story, however, amounts only to a bunch of ideas taken from other, often better productions. Reviewers also complain about technical problems, poor shooting mechanics and repetitive missions.

Overall, it is not tragic, but Sony's in-house studios have accustomed us to a much higher level. Of course, please note that Bend Studio is not a Naughty Dog or Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica. The devs of Days Gone have spent the last dozen of years or so on creating small projects for portable consoles, based on other brands. Considering the above, the debut of the team on PS4 is decent and we are curious to see what the developers will be able to present on PlayStation 5.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the devs have plans for further development of the game. Days Gone will soon be enriched with a survival mode and weekly challenges.
