Dark and Darker Like Diablo 4 Will Have Us Start Over Every Few Months [Update]
Dark and Darker will introduce seasons. The mechanic, known for example from Diablo 4, arouse mixed feelings in many players.
UPDATE
Dark and Darker has received a minor update. As part of it the devs:
- increased the frequency of "unusual" items drops from all chests;
- added a small chance to get "epic" items from chests of any type has been introduced;
- expanded the offer of the Goblin trader;
- fixed a bug that sometimes caused multiple doors to appear in one place;
- made it so that a killed cave troll will not be reborn after death.

A few days ago, after weeks of turbulent developments, Dark and Darker hit early access - the game can now be purchased on Chaf Games and through the official website of studio Ironmace. The title is constantly evolving and this applies not only to bug fixes or the introduction of additional content (including that available through microtransactions). The developer announced the introduction of recently popular seasons to the game.
Dark and Darker may introduce seasons
On the game's channel on Discord the developers announced the idea of introducing seasons and wipes, during which the tables will be reset. This is similar to the solution from, for example, Diablo 4, where each new season the player will have to start with a new character, unless a revival option is introduced in the future.
When asked about the rankings, the developer replied:
"There will be wipes at the beginning of each season, but they will not start with the opening time of the rankings, which is August 13 and 14. We implemented the countdown because we anticipated problems in the first week of release and wanted to fix most of the gameplay-breaking bugs before everyone starts competing for rankes."
He then addressed the mechanics of the rankings directly:
"We plan to introduce three-month seasons, but it depends on the feedback we get. A decision on this has not yet been made."
Developers of Dark and Darker have shared their thoughts on the return of their game to Steam, from which the title was removed after accusations from Nexon. The developers wrote that so far nothing is known about it, but they would very much like the game to return to Valve's platform..
Payment issues
Ironmace also addressed the issue of the game's pricing. For the time being, the studio does not offer price regionalization, but it wants this to change. However, they need to make sure beforehand that the game is available to players around the world.
People who bought Dark and Darker Standard Edition can upgrade it to the Founder's Edition. The developers are also working on making sure that in such a case the website will immediately show the price of the update at $15
Finally, the developer informed that those who want to receive a refund , should go to the Dark and Darker website and click the Support button in the upper right corner, where all the necessary information can be found.
