Cyberpunk 2077 Will Not Support Mods At Launch
Developers from CD Projekt RED reported that the Cyberpunk 2077 RPG will not offer support for mods on the release day. The feature may be added afterwards, but for the time being, the team is focused on core elements of the game.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Cyberpunk 2077 will not support mods at launch;
- The function may be added at a later date;
- Currently, the devs are focusing on completing the game.
The devs from CD Projekt RED informed that their new game – the long-awaited futuristic RPG Cyberpunk 2077 – will not support fan modifications on day one. The developers hope the feature will be added later, but for now, their priority is to finish the game. This matter appeared in a conversation with one of the fans on Facebook.
Then the thread was further discussed on the official forum of the game by the community manager of CD Projekt RED, Marcin Momot.
"I wanted to elaborate on this topic and on that answer in particular. We have no plans to share at the moment. Obviously, we would love to support the modding community in the future, but for the time being, we want to focus on releasing the game first. Hopefully, this clears things up a bit," Marcin Momot said.
No mod support is bad news - fan designs would ideally complement a game like Cyberpunk 2077, enabling modders to improve on the less successful aspects of gameplay and add new content to extend the lifespan of the game. Of course, it's quite possible that the new Redkit will be available after the premiere. We hope this will be the case.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game has no set release date yet, but the E3 presentation of the game should get that matter out of the way – we know that the devs are going to the expo to show the game once again. (unfortunately, as recently confirmed, the demo of the game will not be available for journalists nor audience).
