Cyberpunk 2077 Visual Comparison on PC, PlayStation and Xbox
Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay presentations on PlayStation 4 Pro and PS5 and Xbox One X and Series X consoles are behind us, and the first visual comparisons between the console and PC versions follow suit. How big are the differences?
The excitement around Cyberpunk 2077, after the recent promo materials and impressions from journalists reached monstrous proportions, affecting pre-order numbers and general recognition. In the past few days we also had our first opportunity to see the game in action on PlayStation 4 Pro and PS5 and Xbox One X and Series X consoles. Selected YouTube users decided to compare them with the PC edition, which will look most impressive visually, not least because of the presence of ray-racing. How much will Cyberpunk 2077's visuals on PlayStation and Xbox differ from the PC version?
Cyberpunk 2077 - visual comparison of PC vs PS4 Pro
In the above video, the PC and PS4 Pro versions have been compared. The former boasts much higher quality of textures, shading, and lighting. The console image is also significantly less detailed and out of focus, but this is not necessarily due to the resolution at which Cyberpunk 2077 is rendered on PlayStation and Xboxes. After all, you have to keep in mind the compression of official videos published on YouTube, not to mention the re-upload. The videos from the console version are available in 1080p, while those from PC in 4K, which is not without influence on the image, making it difficult to clearly assess the actual visual quality of the game, especially in console versions.

In the second comparison video, published on EdgeRunner Cold YouTube channel, not all scenes are suitable for direct confrontation. The reason is simple: they show, for example, different times of day, lighting conditions or different locations, which may even make it impossible to detect differences. Sometimes even a small change affects how a scene looks like, let alone the juxtaposition of different streets of Night City. In addition, the video also offers comparisons beyond the PC and PlayStation 4 Pro, as obvious differences can also be detected between the old and current-gen console versions, even if the full-fledged next-gn release of Cyberpunk 2077 with significant visual changes is schedule to launch on in 2021.
The final conclusions will have to wait for the comparison of real-life visuals, but first the game itself must launch. The release of Cyberpunk 2077 will take place on December 10, 2020, i.e. in just over two weeks, and it does not seem to be at risk this time.
