Cyberpunk 2077 - CD Projekt RED Still Considers Multiplayer
During a conversation with GameSpot, one of the producers of Cyberpunk 2077 admitted that the team is still considering implementation of a multiplayer mode in the game.
- Developer: CD Project RED
- Genre: RPG
- Platforms: PC, XONE, PS4
- Release date: April 16, 2020
Last year, CD Projekt RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will not feature any multiplayer mode. Therefore, we welcomed with interest the interview with GameSpot, in which producer Ryszard Borzymowski said that the team is still considering the multiplayer option. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to give any specifics.
It is worth recalling that last year's declaration of no multiplayer mode was only for the game at the time of its release. The creators did not rule out that such an option will be added some time after the market launch. It should be noted that some time ago CD Projekt RED announced the start of cooperation with the Canadian team Digital Scapes, which specializes in creating multiplayer modes.
GameSpot editors also asked about potential expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. Ryszard Borzymowski wasn't ready to say anything specific here either, but he admitted that Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone were very warmly received. For now, however, the team is occupied only with the base version of CP2077.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Nvidia has published a trailer on Twitter, which was shown on gamescom. Unfortunately, this is not a new material, because it is identical to the teaser available during this year's E3. For a truly new gameplay we have to wait for PAX West to start on August 30.
The demo currently on display at gamescom uses ray-tracing technology. We don't know if the gameplay that CD Projekt RED intends to release at PAX will also show the game with this option.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will be released on April 16, next year.
