Tunnel Digging Game Core Keeper Goes Big on Steam
Yesterday, Core Keeper launched on Steam. The game turned out to be quite a success, achieving impressive activity results. It is also very positively evaluated by players.
We like it when a small game suddenly becomes a hit on Steam. The latest example of such success is Core Keeper by Pugstorm, which is sometimes described as a mix of Terraria and Diablo.
Core Keeper on Steam - highlights
The early version of the game debuted on Steam Early Access yesterday, i.e. March 8. Here are the most relevant information related to the early release.
- The activity record for the first day was 7555 people users, which is an impressive result for a small game from a low-profile team.
- The game received a warm reception - 93% of Steam user reviews praise Core Keeper, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.
- Core Keeper can currently be purchased on Steam for around $10. This is a special price, reduced by 10% to celebrate the release. The offer will remain valid until March 15.
There are several reasons for the game's success, the most important being its high quality, which is well illustrated by the player ratings on Steam. For an Early Access game, Core Keeper is polished and offers a lot of content. The game was also helped by the fact that its demo was available as part of the recent Steam Next Fest, so interested players had a chance to check out the title before buying it.
Development plans
The developers expect Core Keeper to leave early access later this year, though it's possible that the release of version 1.0 will be delayed if necessary.
During Early Access, the creators intend to add the following features to the game:
- New biomes,
- Additional enemies and bosses,
- Second half of the storyline,
- New gameplay mechanics including cooking, farming, blacksmithing, and base building,
- Gameplay improvements based on suggestions from early access players,
- Additional language versions - currently the game only offers English, Chinese and Thai.
