Yaoling: Mythical Journey is a new creature collecting RPG, that has just been released in Early Access. As a Yaoling Keeper, you'll forge bonds with unique monsters, the Yaolings, and lead them into exciting battles. Though the game seems perfect for controller support, does it actually offer it? Does Yaoling Mythical Journey Have a Controller Support?

While Yaoling: Mythical Journey offers an immersive adventure, controller support is currently unavailable. However, the developers are working on implementing it in the future updates alongside new mechanics like custom keybindings, regions, and even more Yaolings (as promised on the Steam discussions).

How to Set Up a Controller to Play Yaoling Mythical Journey

Fortunately, there’s a way to set up a gamepad to enjoy Yaoling: Mythical Journey begore full support is added. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it on Steam:

  1. Run the app as administrator and open Steam Settings.
  2. Click on Controller tab and ensure that Enable Steam Input is checked for your controller type (Xbox, PlayStation, or anything else).
  3. Connect your gamepad to your PC.
  4. In your Steam Library, select Yaoling: Mythical Journey and click the controller icon (on the right from the Play button). Here you can edit the layout to customize your own button mapping.
  5. If you’d like to use a pre-made community layout, click on Current Button Layout and select one from the Community tab.

Keep in mind that even though you can use a controller with this method, on-screen button prompts will still show keyboard and mouse controls.
