Community Reaction to Fallout 1st Subscription - Rage and Mockery First
The Fallout 1st subscription announced yesterday was met with a very negative reception by the players of Fallout 76. Most fans are angry and one of them even bought the Falloutfirst.com domain just to mock Bethesda's offer in very indiscriminate words.
Yesterday Bethesda Softworks surprised the players by announcing Fallout 1st, an additional subscription for Fallout 76 owners. As expected, the response of the community to this news is definitely negative.
Bethesda has been extremely negligent and has not registered Falloutfirst.com domain. This was used by one of the disgruntled players who bought this address and uploaded a vulgar parody of the subscription's advertisinge. It ridicules the developers' greed and the miserable extras offered by this subscription. Currently, the website appeares to be down, perhaps as part of Bethesda's damage control (or perhaps due to excessive popularity, who knows). Fortunately, one Reddit user posted a short video presenting the website's contents. You can find it here.
Also social media, especially Fallout 76 subreddit, was filled with voices of dissatisfied players. Fans are complaining about the price that is higher than the Xbox Game Pass, which offers access to a powerful gaming library, including The Outer Worlds from the devs of Fallout: New Vegas. Others stress that given the state in which F76 made its debut, people who bought the title earlier should receive the annual subscription for free as a thank-you gift.
It is also worth mentioning that players have been asking for more space for crafting components for months. Developers explained that this change is impossible because it would cause problems with servers. The community's anger was caused by the fact that we receive a scrap metal container with unlimited space as part of the subscription. Worse still, although this feature is only available in Fallout 1st, people with a subscription can use it on public servers, gaining an advantage over the rest of the community.
The fact that the much-anticipated Wastelanders update has been delayed to next year is also cause for dissatisfaction. Many players have the impression that the patch has been delayed so that developers can implement the subscription.
Recall that the monthly fee for Fallout 1st on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is as high as $12.99. There is also a 12-month option available, costing $99. In return, subscribers receive, among others, private servers, a pack of icons and emotes, a survival tent, 1650 atoms every month, discounts in the shop, guard armour and the aforementioned container for scrap metal. These attractions are therefore extremely poor when compare to the price of the subscription.
