Activsion is very modest in dosing information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War, but so called dataminers are not idle. In the latest update to CoD: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone some files with interesting information were discovered. According to them, the release of the latest installment will take place on Friday, November 13, 2020. A text was also found, thought to be the official description of the story campaign of the latest Call of Duty, which talks about the setting and the characters in the new story.
CoD: Black Ops - Cold War campaign description (note, possible spoilers!)
'The iconic Black Ops series is back with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – the direct sequel to the original and fan-favorite Call of Duty: Black Ops. Black Ops Cold War will drop fans into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s. Nothing is ever as it seems in a gripping single-player Campaign, where players will come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths, as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters and more.'
'As elite operatives, you will follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Descend into the dark center of this global conspiracy alongside iconic characters Woods, Mason and Hudson and a new cast of operatives attempting to stop plot decades in the making.'
'Beyond the campaign, players will bring a Cold War arsenal of weapons and equipment into the next generation of multiplayer and Zombies experiences.'
Presentation of the multiplayer mode
According to many sources we are also getting closer and closer to the presentation of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War's multiplayer mode. Dataminers have pulled information from CoD: Warzone's files about MP presentation planned for September 9, while from Geoff Keighley's twitter account we know for sure that some materials from the new CoD will be shown during GamesCom opening gala on Thursday, August 27, at 11 am PT.
As if that were not enough, the first official presentation of the game will take place on Wednesday, August 26, but in a completely unexpected formula. It will take place in Call of Duty: Warzone on the battle royale map of Verdansk at 10:30 AM PT. Nobody knows how it will be presented. It is speculated that there is going to be an atomic bomb explosion on the map. If this happens, there is no certainty that it will not affect the later appearance of the map permanently.
Either way, CoD fans should probably log on to the free Warzone tomorrow to secure front row seats for this one.
