Christopher Nolan's Tenet Delayed for the Third Time
Warner Bros. has decided to postpone the release of Christopher Nolan's Tenet once again. No new premiere date was given.
Just a few months ago it was promised that Christopher Nolan's Tenet would be released without delays as one of the first films after the opening of American cinemas. Since then, however, the premiere has already been delayed twice. Unfortunately, there's more. Warner Bros. postponed Tenet's release once again, this time witout giving a new release date. The information was provided by Variety and Deadline. The company promised to give a new release date "soon". Interestingly, the company is to resign from the "traditional, global premiere", although it has not yet been specified what exactly it means. It has been added that this will be reflected in the advertisements and distribution of the title.
The premiere of Christoper Nolan's latest film was supposed to be a return to normal for the film industry after a tragic few months. The closure of cinemas around the world made its mark, especially as subsequent productions were postponed to the post-holiday period. The exception was to be Tenet, which would make it the first film to go to cinemas after the crisis was said to be over. Unfortunately, the situation in the USA is still uncertain. More than 140,000 Americans have already lost their lives due to the novel coronavirus, and some states record a record number of new infections per day. In the last 24 hours alone, almost 63,000 new cases were detected (via CNN). Add to that the ongoing protests in the streets of the country, and it's easy to understand why there is no question of opening American cinemas in the near future, let alone the premiere of Tenet.
Tenet is not the only item in the Warner Bros. catalogue that suffers a delay. Thethird part of The Conjuring will not be released until June 4, 2021. Originally, the movie was to be released this year, on September 11. Fortunately, the debut of other films planned for the next few months, such as Wonder Woman 1984 (October 2) and Dune remake (December 18), has not yet been postponed.
