CD Projekt on Expansions for Cyberpunk 2077
One of the employees of CD Projekt Red assures that the basic version of Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a self-contained. The studio, however, does not rule out the possibility of future expansions similar to those from The Witcher 3.
The huge success of The Witcher series certainly contributed to the popularity of Cyberpunk 2077, which is still far from being released, but thanks to the pre-orders the game has already become a bestseller on Steam. The creators are already telling us about the numerous possibilities offered by the production, that you can read about here. The game will enable us, for example, to start playing in different locations and reach one of several endings of the story. On top of all this, one of the employees of CD Projekt Red, Alvin Liu, said during a conversation with Prima Games that (just like in the case of The Witcher 3) the basic version of the game is a self-contained story, but that doesn't mean it's over.
Liu said that, yes, there are expansions in the plans, but only in the future. The creators want to make sure that everything is finished and they want to build a real virtual open world. He also added that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a very satisfactory history (with or without expansions). We will see realistic characters who enter conflicts and try to resolve them. At the very end, Liu stated that CDPR does not intend to sell the game in parts and ensures that in the basic version of the game we will get the full story. If there are any add-ons in the future, as in the case of the The Witcher 3 expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine), they will only expand the story told in the base game.
It is worth recalling that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on April 16 2020 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. The production can already be bought in advance on the official website of the game.
