At the time of writing this news, players have begun to report problems in which they complain that they cannot join online gameplay with friends. With clarification came one of the developers of Call of the Wild The Angler (Expensive Worlds studio), with the nickname Gaz_Ava.
In the thread on the Steam platform, they wrote that the problems were caused by server issues. Gaz explained that this is most likely due to the large number of active players on the game server. They are very happy about the popularity of the title; however, high traffic is affecting online gameplay and causing some malfunctions.
The good news is that since the problem with the multiplayer mode appeared, the game's developers have been working on fixing it. However, this may take some time, so it is worth being patient.
