Bloober Team Will Make a Game Based on Skybound-owned IP

Bloober Team is working on yet another game. Project R is a title licensed from one of Skybound Entertainment's many brands (known, for example, for The Walking Dead).

Silent Hill may not be the only well-known brand to receive a game from the creators of The Medium. Bloober Team announced a partnership with Skybound Entertainment, whose credits include The Walking Dead and Invincible animated TV show.

Under the licensing and publishing agreement, the developer will be working on Project "R" (code name) based on one of the American publisher's brands. It was not revealed what exactly this game will be, but the game is expected to hit the market by 2025.

The only clue may be a mention by Piotr Babiena, president of Bloober Team. He mentioned that "R" is supposed to be the next step in the implementation of studio's strategy, which is based, among other things, on providing partners with "horror" know-how:

"This project is the next step in the 2nd party strategy, in which we work with external partners providing our horror know-how. These are not titles to give us only financial gain, but are the next steps in achieving our strategy by the end of 2027. We have known each other with our Friends from Skybound for a long time and I'm sure it will be a successful cooperation."

If the Poles were to scare the players again, there's a good chance that it's about another game adaptation of The Living Dead. Nevertheless, there is no shortage of other brands in Skybound Entertainment's catalog that could be transferred to games by Bloober Team, such as Outcast Kirkman, Redneck Donny Cates or even Renfield (although here one may have doubts, because in Chris McKay's movie horror blends equally with comedy, which is unlikely to happen in games from the Polish studio).

Nevertheless, for now it's better to withhold speculation and let the studio surprise us. Anyway, probably not once, because - as Babieno stressed - Bloober Team is celebrating its anniversary year, and apparently the Polish developer is hoping to "surprise" players in a big way." Let's remember that the company is working on a total of eleven projects (including the title announced today and non-game works), six of which are still waiting for a full-fledged announcement.
