Bloober Team Secured Funding for New Games But There's a Catch
It has been reported that Bloober Team is working on 3 unannounced games. However, these revelations should be approached with caution.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Bloober Team has a few as yet unannounced titles in store;
- The projects are one again characterized by a dark and heavy atmosphere;
- However, the dates associated with the unannounced games indicate that they've been conceived quite a long time ago, and this means that a lot can change.
After announcing its partnership with Konami, Polish studio Bloober Team found itself on the lips of many players and industry experts. The new interest has brought interesting reports in recent days, as fans have pointed out that the developer has obtained funding from the European Commission for three as yet unannounced projects - the games bear the working titles H2O, Black and Dum Spiro. However, these reports should be approached with caution.
H2O is nothing more than another game from the Layers of Fear series. Black and Dum Spiro are probably new IPs. The first one is supposed to mix the Middle Ages and aliens and enable us to engage in melee combat, although due to the overwhelming enemy numbers the default way to survive will be to hide. The second production is to take us to the Jewish ghetto during World War II, and our goal will be to save our younger sister. As we can see, Bloober sticks to heavy and dark vibes.
It should be noted, however, that the worlds of video games are dynamic, and the aforementioned projects have existed for quite some time (some of them have even theoretically been financed). As we can see on Bloober Team's website, the oldest one is dated back to 2016, with the end of work scheduled for 2018. (Dum Spiro). In turn, the planned completion date of H2O was 2019, but the European Commission's website currently shows 4.03.2021. While the finalization date associated with the "youngest" work of the studio, i.e. Black, is given as the beginning of 2022.
It's also unclear how the Konami deal will affect the progress of the above projects. This means we can't take anything for granted - games evolve during the development process and sometimes change significantly. We can only wait for the studio's official announcements and hope that their upcoming productions will be as good as they can be.
