Black Myth: Wu Kong Developer Responds to Enthusiastic Fans
The founder of Game Science, the studio responsible for the action game Black Myth: Wu Kong, responded to the huge interest in his game displayed by the players. He mentioned, among other things, the shortcomings that were found in the recently released gameplay.
Yesterday, we informed about a newly released gameplay from the action game Black Myth: Wu Kong developed by Chinese studio Game Science. As you may have noticed, the title came as a surprise, but this didn't stop it from winning the hearts of the fans who were delighted with its oriental atmosphere and beautiful graphics. One of the founders of Game Science - Feng Ji - responded to the huge interest of gamers and wrote a little more about the material we had a chance to see (his statement appeared on Weibo, but was translated by one of the users of ResetEra forum, and also confirmed by IGN).
Feng Ji revealed that the gameplay material was primarily intended to help find new employees for the studio who would like to contribute to the game. The video was supposed to show in an honest way what Black Myth: Wu Kong really is. The developers didn't expect such a big response from the players, but they did point out that they would still work hard on it. Fans should even "forget what they've seen" because it's supposedly not the peak of the developers' potential yet.
The co-founder of the Chinese studio also pointed out the shortcomings that appeared in the video, which many of us did not even notice. Feng Ji is not satisfied with, among other things, the physics of water (or rather the lack of water) or the less than matched soundtrack. At the very end he said that now the creators intend to continue working in silence, so a new material from Black Myth: Wu Kong should not be expected too soon.
At the moment we don't even know the game's approximate release date, but we found out that the title is coming to PC and the most important consoles (probably PS5 and Xbox Series X). We don't know yet whether Black Myth: Wu Kong will be released outside China. The title is being developed on Unreal Engine 4.
