Bethesda Prices Skyrim Anniversary Edition; It Won't be Cheap
Bethesda has announced the price of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition - the money we'll have to spend on the new edition of a 10-year-old game seems a bit excessive.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- November 11 will see the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition;
- We learned the price of this edition. It is quite high for what it offers;
- Owners of Skyrim Special Edition will be able to purchase the new content for less than half the price of the entire package.
November 11 will mark the 10th birthday of Skyrim, and with that comes the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. For this reason, Bethesda Softworks answered several questions related to the new edition in the FAQ on the game's website. Among the answers, you can find, among other things, how much the title will cost at launch.
Those willing to buy will have to spend $49.99 USD/54.99 EUR for the whole thing or $19.99 USD/19.99 EUR for the new content alone if they own the Special Edition.
More for You:
What will we be paying for in this edition of Skyrim? According to another entry on the devs' website, the game will include new story threads, referring to previous installment, a survival mode, fishing and much more. Keep in mind that all of these "novelties" comes from the Creation Club service, which is something like Bethesda's mod shop. This means that much of the extra content in the Anniversary Edition has been created by fans, which makes the price tag seem a little excessive.
In the FAQ we can also read that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms will get a physical version of the game. In addition, purchasers of the title on previous-gen consoles will receive a free next-gen upgrade. Unfortunately, when it comes to trophies, PS4 owners will not be able to transfer them to the PlayStation 5.
