Baldur's Gate 3 May Receive New Epilogue in Upcoming Update
Larian Studios is hyping up gamers by suggesting the introduction of a new epilogue to Baldur's Gate 3. It is likely to be part of the upcoming major update number 5.
The fifth major patch for Baldur's Gate 3 is just around the corner, so Larian Studios is heating up the atmosphere among fans of the title. One of the latest tweets by the developers of the lauded RPG suggests that with the next patch, the game may receive a new epilogue.
Baldur's Gate 3 with a new epilogue?
Larian, in a recent post on X, shared a graphic that shows something like a ticket announcing an "extravagant event." This "teaser" of the upcoming update caused euphoria and speculation among fans, which they eagerly shared in the comments.
At the same time, the tweet directly speaks of Withers' epilogue. Recall that it is an undead and very helpful character in our adventure. Thanks to him, players can resurrect characters or changes classed, for the right amount of gold, of course.
Swen Vincke also added his two cents, i.e. the founder of Larian Studios. In a post he mentions the latest tests and surprises contained in the patch. In turn, Michael Douse, director of publishing at Larian, states that "exciting things are ahead," and that the optimization fixes are just a prelude to changes and new features.
So it promises to be a lot of fun (which is mandatory, as the above graphic proclaims). However, we still have to wait for the official list of changes that Patch 5 will bring. According to earlier news from Larian Studios, it should be made available by the end of the week.
It is worth mentioning that we have already learned some of the improvements included in the upcoming patch.
Xbox still without Baldur's Gate 3
Currently, the game in question can only be enjoyed by owners of PCs and PlayStation 5. Owners of consoles from Microsoft must wait for their turn. Eventually, the release date of the game on these devices will be revealed during the upcoming The Game Awards 2023 ceremony, although there have already been rumors suggesting a specific date.
Recall that after the great success of the game, it will also live to see a physical release. The boxed version is expected to hit store shelves in the first quarter of 2024 and will cover PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Baldur's Gate 3 is the favorite to be named Game of the Year at the aforementioned TGA ceremony. In total, the game has been nominated in eight categories, which, along with Alan Wake 2, is the best result of all participating titles.
