Mortal Online 2; First MMORPG on Unreal Engine 5 Got the Biggest Update Ever
A major update 2.0.0.0 has hit the MMORPG Mortal Online 2. With it, the game has switched to Unreal Engine 5, and the developers have made hundreds of changes.
Unreal Engine 5 has finally arrived to Mortal Online 2. Star Vault has released update 2.0.0.0, which brings this hardcore MMORPG, in which players eagerly murder each other, to the latest generation of Epic Games' engine. This includes support for Lumen dynamic lighting technology.
Of course, this operation has translated into an increase in system requirements of MO 2. From now on, the minimum configuration takes requires the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card (or its AMD / Intel equivalent) instead of the GeForce GTX 650.
Nevertheless, the developers hope that the players will appreciate the results of their hard work (some locations "broke" after the switch and had to be repaired from scratch). Mortal Online 2's trailer on Unreal Engine 5 is available below.
Mortal Online 2 - not only the switch to UE5
The engine change is undoubtedly the biggest news in version 2.0, but by no means the only one. The full list of fixes (available on Steam and the game's official website) is long and is not limited to technical issues.
- "Killers" are now marked with red nicknames and can be attacked by other players without consequences. At the same time, the requirement for obtaining this "honor" was increased from 5 to 10 kills.
- The game world has been divided into two types of zones: Guarded Areas and Wilderness. The latter are de facto lawless places - players cannot report murders committed in this type of area.
In addition, the guild, house, territorial control and building systems have undergone quite a revamp. There is also no shortage of corrections related to magic and combat (also in terms of balance, among other things, the parrying of blows has been strengthened). The full list is more than 200 changes.
Unfortunately, the enormity of the new features and fixes did not translate into increased interest. Even just after the release, less than 1.5 thousand players were playing the game at the same time (via SteamCharts), which can hardly be considered an impressive result. Especially since the update was preceded by a nearly six-month period without major new content packages.
