Baldur's Gate 3 Launches to Commotion With System Requirements
Today, Baldur's Gate 3 will debut in early access. We already know exactly what time it will happen. A lot of confusion was caused by the change of system requirements in terms of required storage space.
Today marks the day of Baldur's Gate III's launch in Early Access. Early version of the game will debut today at 10 AM PT. It will be available only on PC and in Google Stadia. The PC edition will be available on Steam and GOG.com.
Before making a decision to buy the game, is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with the system requirements, especially as there was some confusion in this matter. BG3's card on Steam informs that the game needs 150 GB of storage space, while in August there was talk of only 70 GB. However, the developer from Larian explained that in reality the game will take 80 GB. These inaccuracies have not been explained in detail, but they are most likely due to the fact that with subsequent updates, the size of the early version will increase, so the developers listed 150 GB to provide a safe margin as they expect the full release to take that much.
Early Access will offer Act 1 of the campaign, which will take about 20-25 hours to complete. However, the game is to be very non-linear, so it will be possible to play through it many times, each time participating in very different events.
A few days ago, the devs revealed that the early version will allow for the creation of characters from eight races, and this will be accompanied by a wide range of subraces. In turn, the number of character classes will be six. In later updates, these elements will be expanded with additional options.
The game will offer realistic character models. In order to ensure the appropriate diversity, the devs have scanned the faces of 40 actors of different ages and from different ethnic groups. On this basis, about 150 head patterns have been developed and more are to appear in updates.
