Alone in the Dark Delayed Once Again Because the Dev Want Peaceful Christmas
THQ Nordic has postponed the release of the highly anticipated reboot of Alone in the Dark. The horror game will be released later so that its creators can spend the Christmas holidays in peace and without stress.
Reboot of Alone in the Dark suffered a second delay. The first time, the developers - Pieces Interactive - wanted fine-tune the game, while giving themselves and players "the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in October's extraordinary releases without having to split their attention." In turn, this time they want a stress-free Christmas holiday.
As we read in the official press release made available today by THQ Nordic i Plaion Polska:
"The end of the year is approaching, and with it the Christmas holidays. But for Pieces Interactive, the team developing the upcoming survival horror game Alone in the Dark, it didn't seem so obvious until today. Given the originally planned January 2024 release date, the holiday season would have been a stressful and not at all merry time for them. That's why THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive have jointly decided to postpone the release of Alone in the Dark to March 20, 2024.
The well-being of the teams is a top priority for us, and both companies want to avoid potential problems during the Christmas season. What's more, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive want to make sure that the game not only meets, but even exceeds the community's expectations, especially given the outstanding creations of Hollywood stars David [Harbour, known for Stranger Things and Black Widow - Editor's note] and Jodie [Comer, who starred in, among others, Killing Eve or The Last Duel - Editor's note] in lead roles.
We understand that many people are eagerly waiting for this release, but their patience will be rewarded. We are very happy that we will be able to give you a scare as early as next March!"
As a reminder, let me add that Alone in the Dark is heading for PC, PS5 and XSX/S.
