Developers of the isometric RPG Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms have shared a new gameplay trailer. It looks like the developers are preparing a game created for the fans of odl RPG classics.
Old-style RPG
Developers of Alaloth openly admit that while designing their work, they were inspired by games such as Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity. Fans of the aforementioned titles should feel right at home here.
Alaloth is an isometric RPG that takes players to a vast world inhabited by four races - humans, elves, dwarves and orcs. When starting the game, we can choose any of them.
Wandering the virtual land, we'll meet many potential companions and interact with a whole bunch of factions. Of course, how they will react to us depends only on our actions.
This also applies to the plot pf Alaloth, which we will shape on the fly, as befits this kind of RPG.
Combat is the basis
Gamera Interactive decided to focus more (compared to its inspirations) on the combat system.
Clashes are to be almost the most important element of gameplay and a really big challenge. The creators even compared their game to a kind of isometric soulslike.
Players will be able to choose from three fighting styles, and in skirmishes they will be assisted by their companions. Each clash will require the development of appropriate tactics and full use of the character's skills.
Sometimes we'll have to fight small groups of opponents, other times we'll face hordes of enemies and in the key moments we'll be challenged by giant bosses.
Whether the game will enchant fans of classic RPGs, we'll find out later this year. Alaloth will debut on PC this summer. Later, the game will also hit the consoles (most likely Xboxes).
