To say that Age of Empires II is experiencing a renaissance is an understatement. The remake of the iconic strategy game attracted thousands of players from all over the world. This led to a situation in which the refreshed version of the old RTS receives further additions, such as a new campaign. Additional nations are not the only fresh content that developers provide us with. Update numbered 50292 introduces a co-op mode to the game.
This novelty may completely change the experience of the game. Update will enable us to play historical battles and campaigns together with our friends. This is also an attractive solution for the players who prefer clashes with bots rather than live players, but at the same time do not want to play solo.
For now, the devs gave us the opportunity to play six campaigns in co-op. These are the story threads of Alaric, Saladin, Attila, Tariq ibn Ziyad, Suyavarman I, and Tamerlan. The players who prefer shorter sessions can also try their hand at historical battles. Among them we can find clashes at Tours, Hastings, Honfoglalas, Kurikara, and Bapheus. Considering how actively supported Age of Empires II is, this list is likely to grow in the future.
As part of the update, the developers have also prepared a special event titled Lords of the West, which will enable us to earn cosmetic rewards after completing several scheduled challenges. The update will also introduce changes to balance and will fix many bugs present in the game. The full list of changes can be found here.
